Wang Named to United East All-Conference Second Team

Pratt Institute senior Max Wang closed out his 2026 season with major recognition, earning a spot on the United East All-Conference Second Team. The honor highlights Wang’s all-around impact for the Cannoneers and places him among the top performers in conference men’s volleyball.

The announcement, made by the league office following a vote of head coaches, caps a standout year for one of New York City’s most productive collegiate players. Wang’s performance anchored Pratt’s lineup throughout the season, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court.

A Breakout Season For Pratt’s Leader

Wang emerged as the driving force behind Pratt Institute men’s volleyball in 2026, leading the team across nearly every statistical category. The senior outside hitter finished with 160 kills, 209.0 total points, 46 service aces, and 143 digs, setting the tone in Brooklyn for a program continuing to build its presence in NYC college sports.

His ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game made him indispensable. Whether attacking from the outside, serving aggressively, or anchoring the back row, Wang consistently delivered in high-pressure moments.

Standout Performances Define His Year

Several performances during the season underscored Wang’s value to the Cannoneers. He posted three double-doubles, including a dominant showing in a five-set clash against Neumann University where he recorded 22 kills and 15 digs.

Another signature outing came against Lehman College, a fellow New York program, where Wang tallied 15 kills while setting a career high with 22 digs. That performance not only highlighted his offensive consistency but also his defensive resilience in extended rallies.

Among The United East’s Best

Across the United East Conference, Wang’s numbers placed him firmly among the league’s elite. He led all players in aces per set at 0.71, demonstrating a serve that consistently disrupted opposing offenses.

His defensive presence was equally notable, ranking fifth in digs per set at 2.30. Offensively, he finished sixth in points per set (3.43) and ninth in kills per set (2.69), reinforcing his reputation as one of the conference’s most complete players.

A Milestone For Pratt Volleyball

Wang’s selection marks the first all-conference honor of his collegiate career and continues a recent trend of recognition for Pratt Institute men’s volleyball. He becomes just the third player in program history to earn All-United East distinction, joining Jason Raymond (First Team, 2024) and Brooks Reid (Third Team, 2025).

For a program competing within the growing landscape of New York college athletics, individual honors like Wang’s signal steady progress and increased competitiveness on the regional stage.

What’s Next For Pratt

As Wang’s collegiate career comes to a close, his impact leaves a clear benchmark for the Cannoneers moving forward. His production and leadership set a standard for future players as Pratt looks to build on its momentum within the United East Conference.

In the broader NYC college sports scene, Wang’s recognition reflects the continued emergence of talent across smaller programs, reinforcing the depth and quality of men’s volleyball in New York.
