Terra believes Sheepshead Bay locals deserve a sophisticated evening without heading into Manhattan. Founded by lifelong friends and neighborhood natives Oleg Rybak and Dmitry Khavko, this modern European restaurant offers an upscale, yet inviting, dining destination right at home.

Rybak, a wine lover and attorney, together with Khavko, an aficionado of whisky and a finance expert, noticed a lack of quality dining in the area. With Terra, they aimed to fill that void and provide the sort of restaurant they had always wished was closer to home—reflecting their own tastes and serving their community.

A Renowned Chef at the Helm

Executive Chef Dima Martseniuk leads the kitchen. A native of Ukraine, he arrived in the United States in 2009, quickly establishing his culinary reputation in New York. He became executive chef at Veselka, earned a Grand Diploma from the French Culinary Institute, and gained national recognition after opening Ruta in Washington, D.C., serving notable guests and earning accolades for his borscht.
