BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph’s University, New York (Brooklyn) men’s volleyball team delivered a straight-set victory over Yeshiva University on Tuesday night at The Hill Center, winning 3–0 (25–17, 25–20, 25–16) in Skyline Conference action. With the result, the Bears move to 8–6 overall and 5–3 in conference play.

Strong Opening Set Sets the Tone

St. Joseph’s established control early with sharp offensive execution and steady ball control. The Bears posted an impressive .423 hitting percentage in the first set, recording 12 kills with just one error. A mid-set run helped create separation before they secured the 25–17 win. Jeremias Martinez led the charge with six kills in the set, while Etvola Sango and Richard Ortega combined to add four more.

Offensive Surge Powers Second Set Win

Yeshiva stayed competitive through much of the second frame, but St. Joseph’s elevated its attack at a critical moment. The Bears delivered their most productive set offensively, finishing with 17 kills. Martinez and Sango each contributed six kills during the stretch, helping the team pull away late and take the set 25–20 for a two-set lead.

Bears Close Match with Commanding Finish

In the third set, St. Joseph’s maintained control by limiting Yeshiva’s opportunities to build momentum. The Bears dictated the pace throughout and closed out the match decisively with a 25–16 victory to complete the sweep.

Martinez finished with a standout performance, totaling 17 kills, four aces, and six digs. Sango added 11 kills, while Ortega contributed five. Setter Jack Buscaglia guided the offense with 33 assists and recorded a block. Mark Belov chipped in three service aces, and both Keiran McMullan and Matthew Cottone led the defensive effort with seven digs each.
