The network operates under the umbrella of JIG Media, a Brooklyn-based communications and digital media company focused on community news, institutional developments, and sector coverage throughout the five boroughs.
Chief Executive Officer – JIG Media
Vernon K. Jones is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of JIG Media and the creator of NYC News Network. He leads the strategic development of the network’s digital media ecosystem, which includes neighborhood and sector-focused publications covering communities across New York City.
Jones has built multiple digital media platforms focused on connecting organizations, institutions, and communities through targeted local coverage and digital publishing. Under his leadership, JIG Media has developed a portfolio of publications covering areas including politics, education, hospitality, health, sports, and neighborhood news.
Senior Vice President – JIG Media
Wayne Jordan serves as Senior Vice President of JIG Media, helping guide marketing strategy, partnerships, and business development across NYC News Network publications. Jordan has been a long time advisor for JIG Media, prior to his current role as SVP.
Jordan works closely with organizations, institutions, and community partners to expand the network’s reach and strengthen its role as a digital information platform serving New York City communities.
Political Director – JIG Media
Managing Partner – Fort Greene News
Eric Blackwell serves as Political Director for JIG Media, providing guidance on civic affairs, elections, and public policy coverage across NYC News Network publications.
He is also the Managing Partner of Fort Greene News, a neighborhood publication focused on community developments and local issues affecting residents of Fort Greene and surrounding Brooklyn communities.
Michael Bellamy serves as Managing Partner for NYC College Sports, a publication within NYC News Network dedicated to covering collegiate athletics across New York City. Mike has an extensive background in sports media. For many years he was the seniors sport producer for BRIC TV.
He helps guide the publication’s development and partnerships with colleges, athletic programs, and community stakeholders connected to college sports throughout the five boroughs.
Managing Partner – EATandDrink.NYC
Cal Jones serves as Managing Partner for EATandDrink.NYC, the network’s hospitality and dining publication focused on restaurants, bars, and food culture across New York City. Cal has been involved in the hospitality industry for many years, working with local restaurants and venues, while booking jazz bands and musicians, including the booking of the famous bass player, Stanley Banks.
He works with hospitality businesses and industry partners to highlight developments and trends shaping the city’s restaurant and dining scene.
