The Bearcats women’s swimming team opened its CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) schedule in dominant fashion on Thursday, December 11, rolling past John Jay College of Criminal Justice in a meet where the visitors controlled the action from start to finish.
From the opening medley relay through the final event at John Jay, the Bearcats won every race that was not listed as an exhibition.
Multiple-Win Leaders Power the Performance
Several Bearcats put together standout meets with multiple victories:

Kira Chen earned three wins in the 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard individual medley, and 100-yard backstroke.

Allyse Alexander matched that total with first-place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay, 50-yard freestyle, and 100-yard butterfly.

Kaetlyn Chavez owned the distance events, sweeping the 1,000-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, and also taking the 100-yard freestyle.

Ashley Leal added two victories in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle.
Next Up: Finals Break, Then York College
With a strong conference opener in the books, the Bearcats now head into the Final Exam Break with momentum. The team will regroup after finals and return to competition on January 5 at York College, kicking off a busy January schedule.
