The sweet, savory, and even some of the sour fruits we love have come or are coming back into season. So, in anticipation of spring, we have listed our favorite nutritious fruits, and the best ways to keep them fresh. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Apricots<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are full of Vitamin A and C, potassium and fiber. They are best kept at room temperature until ripe. After fully ripe, store them in the refrigerator inside a plastic bag, where they will stay fresh for another 3 to 5 days. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Avocados<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are high in Vitamin C and B-6, magnesium, fiber, potassium, and monounsaturated fat (the good kind of fat). To keep avocados fresh, store at room temperature until ripe, then keep them in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. Extra tip: to keep an opened avocado from browning, sprinkle the opened part with lemon or lime juice, place it in an airtight plastic wrap or container, and refrigerate. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Cherimoya <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contains high amounts of Vitamin C and B-6, fiber, potassium, and protein. Keep at room temperature until ripe (once the fruit softens slightly), then refrigerate for 1 to 2 days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Grapefruits <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are high in Vitamin A and C. They can either be kept out at room temperature for 1 week, or in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Honeydew Melons <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have high amounts of Vitamin C and potassium. They can be stored at room temperature. But, must be refrigerated after opening, where they can be kept for up to 2 weeks. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Mangos <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are high in fiber and Vitamin C and A. They can be stored at room temperature for 1 to 2 days, and must be refrigerated once cut or peeled. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Oranges <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contain a whole lot of Vitamin C. They can either be kept out or can be refrigerated for 1 to 2 weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pineapples <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are high in Vitamin C and B-6, magnesium, fiber, and potassium. They should be eaten or cut as soon as ripe, and can only be kept out for a day or two. Refrigerate after cutting open. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Plums <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contain mostly Vitamin C and K, and should be refrigerated for 3 to 4 days after ripening. Extra tip: plums taste great served cold, especially on hot days; just remove the pit and place in the freezer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Strawberries <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are high in Vitamin C, magnesium, and fiber.
