Adams<\/strong> has partnered with a number of Brooklyn&#8217;s hospitals and medical centers, to promote the importance of screening for colon cancer.\u00a0 On March 1, the Borough President hosted a Colon Cancer Awareness event at Borough Hall, which kicked off the month-long screening initiative.<\/p>\n<h3>The Importance of Colon Cancer Screening<\/h3>\n<p>According to the Department of Health,\u00a0<strong>colorectal cancers are more treatable when found early<\/strong>, before the cancer spreads to other parts of the body.
