\u201cI stepped up while others stepped down,\u201d<\/em> Adams said, referring to former Governor Cuomo stepping down when he faced personal hard times while Governor, drawing loud cheers from the crowd of hundreds. Mayor Adams emphasized the complexity of the situation, explaining that city laws obligated him to house all migrants who arrived in New York, despite strained resources and pushback. Yet through strategic coordination and firm leadership, his administration dramatically reduced the shelter count\u2014fulfilling a commitment made to Clinton Hill residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were dealt a tough hand, but we didn’t fold,\u201d<\/em> Adams said. \u201cWe kept going. And now, this community can breathe easier.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
