College Sports NY via NYCSN<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Bearcats women\u2019s swimming team kicked off their CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) campaign with a dominant win over John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Thursday, December 11, setting the tone early and never looking back during the meet.<\/p>\n

Starting with the initial medley relay and closing with the night\u2019s final event, the Bearcats claimed every race except those classified as exhibitions at John Jay.<\/p>\n

Standout Swimmers Lead the Way<\/h2>\n

Several members of the Bearcats stood out by winning multiple events:<\/p>\n

    Kira Chen<\/strong> collected three victories in the 200-yard medley relay<\/strong>, the 200-yard individual medley<\/strong>, and the 100-yard backstroke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Allyse Alexander<\/strong> tied with Chen by placing first in the 200-yard medley relay<\/strong>, 50-yard freestyle<\/strong>, and 100-yard butterfly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Kaetlyn Chavez<\/strong> swept all distance categories, capturing wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle<\/strong>, 500-yard freestyle<\/strong>, and 100-yard freestyle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Ashley Leal<\/strong> notched two firsts in the 200-yard medley relay<\/strong> and 200-yard freestyle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
