Brooklyn is set to become an even greater hub for youth basketball development thanks to BSE Global, the parent company of the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Liberty. The organization is launching the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center, a state-of-the-art, nearly 19,000-square-foot facility located just steps from Barclays Center on Flatbush Avenue. Opening this fall, the center will serve as the new home for Brooklyn Basketball, BSE\u2019s youth development initiative focused on providing a safe and supportive environment for young athletes.<\/p>\n
A Holistic Approach to Athlete Development<\/b><\/p>\n
The Brooklyn Basketball Training Center will feature two regulation-size courts, a half-court \u201cshooting lab,\u201d and auxiliary baskets, all equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to help young athletes sharpen their skills. However, the center’s mission goes beyond just basketball instruction. It aims to foster holistic development, nurturing young people both on and off the court.<\/p>\n

To support academic success, the facility will include dedicated spaces for homework and studying. A comfortable area for parents will also be provided, fostering a sense of community and encouraging family involvement. The goal is to build a supportive environment where development, discipline, and community go hand in hand.<\/p>\n
Empowering Brooklyn’s Youth Through Innovative Programs<\/b><\/p>\n
The new training center will be the primary location for Brooklyn Basketball\u2019s existing programs, including daily clinics, after-school sessions, and summer camps. Additionally, a new after-school initiative for children aged 6 to 14 will launch this fall. Highlighting a commitment to inclusivity and female empowerment in sports, the program will dedicate every Wednesday exclusively to training for girls.<\/p>\n

Expanding Access and Opportunities for Brooklyn’s Young Athletes<\/b><\/p>\n
Brooklyn Basketball currently serves approximately 40,000 children annually through its clinics and school-based programs in partnership with the Department of Education. The new facility is expected to significantly expand this reach, providing a centralized hub for training, mentorship, and community engagement.<\/p>\n
This initiative is part of a broader investment in youth basketball by BSE Global. Earlier this year, the Liberty announced plans to open a new state-of-the-art player training center in Greenpoint by 2027, which will also include courts for community use. <\/p>\n
