Comedian\u00a0Amanda Seales<\/a>\u00a0is bringing her new one-woman show,\u00a0What Would The Ancestors Say??<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0The Billie Holiday Theatre\u00a0<\/a>for an exclusive preview on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27.<\/p>\n

Both shows will include a Meet and Greet event and a special gift for attendees, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

Seale’s production company,\u00a0Smart, Funny & Black Productions described the show\u00a0as \u201ca sharp-witted gut check about where Black America stands today through the lens of its ancestral roots.\u201d The show is designed to \u201centertain, educate, and empower audiences to step into the light handed down to them by those who fought before them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through a blend of stand-up comedy, poetry, song and character acting, Seales poses provocative questions like “What is Harriet Tubman thinking looking down at the current state of the USA?” and “Are you the type that Harriet Tubman would shoot if she came back?”<\/p>\n

This event at The Billie marks one of three preview stops for\u00a0What Would The Ancestors Say??<\/em>, which will tour in\u00a0Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., before the live-streamed premiere on Nov.\u00a02.<\/p>\n

Seales brings a multifaceted background to the stage, with a Master\u2019s degree in African American Studies from Columbia University and a career spanning comedy, radio, acting\u00a0and social activism.<\/p>\n

Her fans know her for her roles as Tiffany DuBois\u00a0on HBO\u2019s\u00a0Insecure<\/em>, her stand-up special\u00a0I Be Knowin’<\/em>,\u00a0as a former co-host on\u00a0The Real<\/em>, her podcast\u00a0Small Doses<\/em>\u00a0and her touring game show\u00a0Smart Funny & Black<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Saturday show at the theater, located at 1368 Fulton St.,\u00a0begins at 7:00pm, while the Sunday shows starts at 3:00pm.<\/p>\n
