Over 30 businesses and organizations have joined the Healthy NYC Expo, in support of improving the overall health for all New Yorkers. The list of supporting partners include some of NYC’s most recognizable brands;\u00a0ShopRite<\/a>,\u00a0EmblemHealth<\/a>,\u00a0UnitedHealthcare<\/a>,\u00a0Senior Whole Health<\/a>,\u00a0Vita Coco<\/a>,\u00a0Advantage Care Physicians<\/a>,\u00a0WellCare<\/a>,\u00a0Brookdale Hospital<\/a>, and\u00a0Kings County Hospital<\/a>, just to name a few. Developed to create excitement and engagement around the topic of healthcare in New York City, the\u00a0Healthy NYC Expo presented by ShopRite<\/strong>\u00a0is set for this\u00a0Saturday, November 4th, 2017<\/strong>\u00a0from 10am to 4pm at the Brooklyn Sports Club.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to participate in the Health NYC Expo, which serves as an opportunity to provide helpful information during this Open Enrollment season. At EmblemHealth, we are committed to initiatives that bring resources to the communities we serve and we look forward to telling Brooklyn residents about the wide range of plans we have available to suit their healthcare needs.\u201d \u2013\u00a0Courtney Jay, Director of Corporate Communications for EmblemHealth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Healthy NYC is a citywide initiative, with Brooklyn acting as the launching pad. The organizers have plans to produce one expo in each borough every year, as a way to galvanize community influencers, families, millennials, seniors, caregivers and healthcare professionals, around the idea of improving the overall Population Health of New York City.<\/p>\n

In addition to over 30 exhibitors covering healthcare, fitness and nutrition, the expo provides attendees with tips and resources to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Event activities include medical screenings, prizes and giveaways,\u00a090\u2019s Hip Hop Spin (cycling) Class<\/a>,\u00a0Lauryn Hill inspired yoga<\/a>, cooking demonstrations, Zumba, a\u00a0Mental Health Roundtable Discussion<\/a>, an exclusive\u00a0Open Enrollment Medicare \/ Medicaid information session<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Free student dance classes by Purelements Dance Company<\/a>, health insurance options and much more.<\/p>\n

Andrew Kent, Executive VP, ShopRite<\/strong>\u00a0explained, \u201cWe are dedicated to the wellbeing of the communities we serve, which is why partnering with JIG Media on the Healthy NYC initiative was such an easy decision.\u201d<\/p>\n
