NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue has completed a nearly $7 million modernization of its Emergency Department CT suite, adding a second advanced CT scanner to help doctors diagnose serious medical conditions faster. The upgrade is expected to improve emergency care for thousands of New Yorkers treated at one of the city’s busiest hospitals each year.

The expanded CT imaging capacity will support faster diagnosis of strokes, traumatic injuries, internal bleeding, infections, and other urgent conditions while helping improve patient flow in Bellevue Hospital’s Emergency Department. With more than 110,000 emergency visits annually, the hospital says the additional scanner will help ensure uninterrupted access to critical imaging services around the clock.
