Letitia James Challenges Mental Health Funding Cuts

New York Attorney General Letitia James is featured in the Health + Wellness section of NYC Newswire after joining a coalition of 14 attorneys general in a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s latest effort to cut federal funding for school-based mental health services.

The lawsuit argues the U.S. Department of Education is attempting to bypass a previous court ruling by using a different legal approach to terminate grants that help schools hire counselors, psychologists, and social workers. If the funding is eliminated, New York schools could lose millions of dollars supporting mental health programs that serve thousands of students statewide.
