As the Los Angeles stop of Kota the Friend\u2019s<\/a> Flight Night Hip Hop Festival<\/a> approaches, it is essential to remember the true purpose of the tour, and of the fltbys<\/strong> <\/a>brand. In a video shared last week to the fltbys\u2019 Instagram page, that mission was clearly restated:<\/p>\n

Embracing the concept to connect up-and-coming talent with their community, we will highlight a stacked lineup of opening acts in LA, who will bless the mic prior to Kota taking the stage at\u00a0The Vermont Hollywood on Friday, February 25th<\/sup><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 One of those performers will be multitalented and poetic emcee JUICEB<\/strong>\u262e<\/strong><\/a>\ufe0fX<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A staple in the lofi\/chillhop community since the Soundcloud era, JUICEB\u262eX has consistently captured minds and imaginations with his heady bars, smooth cadence, and experimental layering. It is hard, in one word, or several, to characterize Juice\u2019s music by genre; he commonly refers to himself as \u201cEllen DeGenreless\u201d.\u00a0 A multi-instrumentalist, and producer (many tracks are self-produced) his sound draws influence from boom-bap hip hop, R&B, psychedelic rock, and punk. These elements are fused through incisive writing, and lyricism, wrought with imagery, emotion, and social awareness. Outside of his solo career, JUICEB\u262eX is 1\/2 of indie psych R&B duo Figmore<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Originally from Ossining, NY, JUICEB\u262eX has found a new home in LA, moving three years ago.\u00a0 The number of artists in the city, and their collaborative nature is a feature that has allowed him to feel both welcomed, and motivated: \u201cLA is a beautiful place! I love how community\u00a0driven the music scene is & how easy it’s been to meet and connect with other\u00a0artists.
