I hope you get a break too.<\/p>\n<p>But while you\u2019re taking a break, how many times are you going to check your phone for work-related texts and emails?<\/p>\n<p><strong>For as much good as smartphones and plentiful high speed Internet have brought us, they\u2019ve also created an always-on work culture that most of us have never stopped to examine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As constant connection to the Internet loses its novelty and becomes a normal way of life, employers have adjusted their expectations of 24\/7 availability to the point where workers fear retaliation if they don\u2019t respond to every off-hours request.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s the thing: It doesn&#8217;t have to be this way.
