Multiple City Council hopefuls addressed the audience: District 11\u2019s Denise Smith critiqued current education strategies, claiming they\u2019ve led to a drop in academic performance. District 8 candidate Tyreek Goodman emphasized housing and economic fairness, while Emmanuel Findlay Jr., running in District 16, discussed job growth and employment justice.<\/p>\n
Christopher Reid, who chairs the New York Young Republican Club Bronx Caucus, matched Duran\u2019s concerns and strongly criticized Mamdani\u2019s policy positions.<\/p>\n

\nDuran highlighted his longstanding work connecting Conservatives and Republicans throughout New York City, attributing successful coalition-building to concrete actions rather than just speech.<\/p>\n

Looking forward, Duran said he now seeks to bridge the broader political gap by approaching Democrats dissatisfied with current leadership. He pointed out a recent endorsement from former Queens Civil Court candidate Dr. Julie Milner, suggesting additional Democratic support could soon follow.<\/p>\n
