Rose, interim executive director of the BCD Alliance.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere is no power quite like the power born from bridging the arts and activism,\u201d said Lurie Daniel Favors, executive director at the Center for Law and Social Justice at Medgar Evers College. \u201cThe arts can serve as a pathway towards a lifetime of civic engagement. Photo: Supplied\/Center For Law And Social Justice<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On Wednesday, Oct.\u00a016, the Center will show\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/cinema-with-a-cause-rigged-the-voter-suppression-playbook-tickets-972588728067?aff=oddtdtcreator\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Rigged:\u00a0The Voter Suppression Playbook.<\/em><\/a>\u00a0The documentary,\u00a0narrated by actor Jeffery Wright,\u00a0shows how the right wing has been systematically undermining the voting system through a decade of dirty tricks, including partisan gerrymandering, voter purges, and the gutting of the Voting Rights Act by the Supreme Court in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The film\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/cinema-with-a-cause-selma-tickets-976152607727?aff=oddtdtcreator\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Selma<\/em><\/a>\u00a0will be shown on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
