On Saturday, July 29th<\/sup>, 2023, founder and Executive Director of\u00a0HealthJox Foundation, Inc.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>–\u00a0Dewry DuRoi Bradford<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0teams up with\u00a0BK Net-Work\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>to produce the 6th<\/sup>\u00a0annual\u00a0HealthJox Festival<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 2 Basketball Courts.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

HealthJox Festival –\u00a0<\/strong>Brooklyn Bridge Park, (Pier 2 Basketball Courts),\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>Saturday, July 29 ,2023\u00a0\u2013 12:00 noon \u2013 5:00pm\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Attendees will enjoy a healthy day of\u00a0\u201cGame Of Thrones\u201d – Basketball Tournament<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0– hosted by\u00a0Zak Solomon Miller<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0The\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Voice Of Harlem<\/em><\/strong>; Pickle Ball games and AirOdart clinic & games hosted by\u00a0Coach Ted Gustus<\/em><\/strong>; 60\u2019s & Over \u2013 Basketball Exhibition hosted by\u00a0Lahh Woods & Front Court Masters<\/em><\/strong>; Workout hosted by celebrity trainer\u00a0Jerry Joseph<\/em><\/strong>;\u00a0life-size board games; face painting and cool attractions for the kids; opening entertainment by \u200b Gospel Singer –\u00a0\u200bAlicia Robinson Cooper\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>from the cast of\u00a0BOUNCE The Basketball Opera –\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>playing the role of Mrs. Lucas, a mother who has lost her 5-year-old son to gun violence.\u00a0(Credit: ARDEA ARTS & Opera Out of Bounds)<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0HealthJox<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will also offer free tablets for underserved attendees.<\/p>\n

***Attendees can bring their lunch, but we will also provide light healthy snacks, drinks, and unlimited water.<\/p>\n

The office of the Mayor of New York City honors the following with Citations for impactful work within the 5-boroughs:<\/p>\n

  • Missionary Bishop Lester Bradford:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Founder of Exousia Cathedral, with over 30 years of missionary work locally and abroad, he launched a program called\u00a0“Brownsville Shines”<\/em>that annually provides food, clothing, technology, and toys to Brownsville residents throughout the year.<\/li>\n
  • Coach Ted Gustus:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Former\u00a0PSAL Basketball Commissioner for Brooklyn\u00a0<\/em>who founded the\u00a0One Breath Foundation<\/em>in Brooklyn to teach Youth the importance of “breath” and healthy activities through podcasts, tournaments, and basketball training programs.<\/li>\n
  • Bob McCullough:<\/em><\/strong>former NBA player, co-founder of Rucker Pro Tournament and founder of\u00a0Each One Teach One\u00a0w<\/em>hose mission is rooted in fostering holistic growth in the countless participants it has served. They have been instrumental in the development of a multitude of youngsters\u2019 skills on the court, with many who have gone on garnering athletic scholarships from colleges as well as playing professionally.<\/li>\n
  • Phillip Rucker:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Son of Holcombe Rucker – founder of\u00a0Fundamental Community Solutions\u00a0<\/em>which\u00a0creates major opportunities for Youth in New York City for them to reach their potential.<\/li>\n
  • Stacey Marius &\u00a0Cheryl Marius:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Directors of\u00a0Entertainers Basketball Classic<\/em>and surviving sisters of founder\u00a0Greg Marius<\/em>\u00a0continues the legacy of a powerful staple in\u00a0Harlem<\/em>\u00a0for the Youth of New York City.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
