Although it might be his birthday, Brooklyn musician KOTA the Friend<\/a> is giving his fans the gifts by holding an album signing<\/a> for his album EVERYTHING<\/a> on Sunday October 17. <\/p>\n

\"\"EVERYTHING is KOTA the Friend\u2019s fourth studio album and features appearances from artists Joey Bada$$<\/strong>, Braxton Cook<\/strong>, Bas<\/strong>, KYLE<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n

The album also includes an interlude track by Lupita Nyong’o<\/strong>, the first song on the Biden\/Harris Inauguration Playlist<\/a>, and one from actor Lakeith Stanfield<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

KOTA the Friend has repeatedly turned down major record labels to remain an independent artist, and released his debut mixtape Palm Tree Liquor in 2016, following it a year later with his second mixtape, Paloma Beach.<\/p>\n

His first independent studio album Anything<\/strong><\/a> was released in 2018, followed by his second album FOTO<\/strong><\/a> in 2019, which was ranked 17th<\/sup> best Hip Hop album of the year by Rolling Stone. His third album, Lyrics to GO, Vol. 1<\/a>, was released in 2020, along with his album EVERYTHING — which peaked at 162 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n

In 2021, KOTA the Friend has so far released two albums: Lyrics to GO, Vol. 2<\/a> and To Kill a Sunrise<\/strong><\/a> in collaboration with Statik Selektah.<\/p>\n
