N.E.W. (National Expungement Works)<\/span><\/a> has once again joined forces with <\/span>WOCC (Women of Color in Cannabis)<\/span><\/a> to host an event addressing the growing issue of food insecurity throughout local Brooklyn communities.\u00a0 On Friday, <\/span>August 20th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm,<\/span> N.E.W. and WOCC will host an <\/span>F.L.O. (Food Let Out), food distribution<\/span> at <\/span>Drip Beverage Lounge<\/span><\/a>, located at <\/span>830 Rogers Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn<\/span>.\u00a0 They invite the community or anyone in need of <\/span>fresh produce, pantry items, and beverages<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On hand at this event will be representatives from N.E.W., creators of the annual week known throughout the country and internationally for legal relief and transformative services known as <\/span>National Expungement Week<\/span>.\u00a0 This year National Expungement Week, a project of the organization, evolved into the N.E.W. <\/span>Week of Action and Awareness<\/span>, a call to action raising the public\u2019s awareness of the importance of legal relief in restoring pathways for generational wealth and healing.\u00a0 <\/span>This year, the Week of Action and Awareness will take place from September 26 – October 3, 2021. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
