The Campaign Finance Board<\/strong> is providing $8 to $1 matching funds for those candidates who surpass the threshold of local voter financial support.\u00a0 Those who surpass the threshold to receive matching funds are the leading candidates for the 2021 elections and rightfully so because they were able to garner support from local voters. Voters who contribute to a campaign are likely to vote for that candidate. These candidates have shown that not only are they capable of generating support from voters, they are running viable campaigns that can win.<\/p>\n The 8 to 1 matching funds from the Campaign Finance Board gives the leading candidates an obvious financial advantage, allowing them to increase their marketing and reach. 2021 will be an unusual year as we are still in pandemic mode, so campaigns will have to figure out the best ways to reach voters. Traditional political marketing is heavy on the side of print and mailings, but with so many voters relying heavily on digital and social media as a way to consume news, candidates will have to be smart when it comes to spending those extra dollars received from the Campaign Finance Board.
