NEW YORK<\/strong>\u00a0(October 23, 2017) \u2013 Today JIG Media<\/a>, producers of the Healthy NYC Expo, announced that EmblemHealth<\/strong><\/a> will be facilitating an Open Enrollment Information Session<\/strong> during the Healthy NYC Expo, Presented by ShopRite<\/a>, Saturday Nov. 4, 2017 <\/strong>at the Brooklyn Sports Club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the uncertainty of health care during this time, and questions that New Yorkers might have about Medicare, this Open Enrollment Information Session is even more important to attend. For those who are turning 65 soon or already have Medicare but want to switch plans, then this session will answer any questions they might have.\u00a0For example, you can switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan or\u00a0 possibly\u00a0qualify for medicaid with your medicare, and become eligible for a Dual Plan\/SNP. Your coverage for medicare will be effective on January 1 of the upcoming year, however coverage for Dual Plan\/SNP will begin the next month.<\/p>\n

This session will concentrate on Medicare Open Enrollment<\/strong>, which begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7, 2017.<\/p>\n

You will also be able to inquire about enrollment in the\u00a0NYS Marketplace which begins November 1st<\/sup>\u00a0and ends January 31st<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Qualified Health Plans and Essential (0-64 years of age).<\/p>\n
