An allegedly drunk driver struck and killed 17-year-old Gerritsen Beacher Sean Ryan while he was riding his bicycle along Gerritsen Avenue on Sunday night, police said. <\/p>\n

The 24-year-old driver was heading toward the Belt Parkway when he crossed over into the other lane and hit the teen near Gotham Avenue at 8:47 pm, according to authorities. <\/p>\n

Emergency responders pronounced Ryan dead at the scene and arrested the driver for vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, police said. <\/p>\n

Officials are still investigating the crash, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Neighbors will hold a vigil at 7 pm tonight, walking from Victoria Pizza (2716 Gerritsen Ave. between Everett and Florence avenues) to The Point (at the end of Gerritsen Avenue).<\/p>\n
